Patient Price Information List

Hospital Billing Policies

Akron General will bill all your medical insurance carriers. Please be sure we have your correct and complete insurance information. This is most easily accomplished if you present your insurance cards when you are registering. Copayments should be paid at the time of service.

Balances remaining after insurance payments and adjustments will be billed to you. You may also be billed if your insurance company denies payment or fails to respond. We encourage you to appeal denials with your insurance company and to call them when you have not received notice that they have paid your bill.

When you do receive your bill, payment in full is expected, and appreciated. If you cannot pay your entire balance, please call us and we will try to help.

Interest-free payment plans are available, and free or discounted care is available. To qualify, you must complete an application and provide verification of income. Applications are available on the back of each patient statement, or by calling 330-344-2000 or 1-866-440-0257.

Consumers can access a number of government and private Websites, which provide additional information on hospitals' charges and quality. For a complete listing of available online resources, please visit the Consumer's Guide to Quality Health Care in Ohio at www.ohanet.org/portal.
