Objectives:
-
To expose the student to the study and treatment of
bone and soft tissue neoplasms, both benign and malignant, primary and
metastatic, in both adults and children.
Prerequisite:
-
M4 student
-
Previous orthopaedic rotation (2 weeks minimum)
Description:
-
Participate in all surgeries relating to orthopaedic
oncology which occur during the elective period.
-
Review with the director and the pathologist(s) the
histopathology of all neoplasms treated during the elective period, as well
as certain classic orthopaedic neoplasms.
-
Receive exposure to ongoing local research in orthopaedic
oncology.
Night Call/Special Requirements: Variable as part of
Orthopaedic resident call team.
