A Chaplain is in the hospital and available 24 hours a day to patients, family and hospital staff, ministering to spiritual and emotional needs.

Patients may request a chaplain or arrange a visit from their own clergy by asking their nurse or calling the Spiritual Care Department.

Chapel Worship Services
The chapel is open to all faiths and our services are designed to meet the needs of whoever attends. Many of our chapel services are conducted by chaplains.

Annual Memorial Service
An annual memorial service on the first Sunday in November from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. in the Akron General Conference Center. This service is open to anyone who has lost a loved one.

Special Services and Sacraments
The Spiritual Care Department can arrange and/or perform special services and sacraments, such as baptisms, weddings, kosher meals, circumcisions and communions.

Spiritual Care Education
The Spiritual Care Department is accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. (ACPE) as a center for Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Clinical Pastoral Education is professional education that focuses on the formation of professional pastoral identity and skills as a pastoral caregiver.
