Director Nursing/Patient Services Labor & Delivery
Under the direct supervision of the Vice President or Senior Director, the Director, Nursing/Patient Services is a clinically competent director who is responsible for directing the clinical and administrative functioning of a patient care unit(s). The Director has twenty-four (24) hour accountability and responsibility for the patient care unit(s).
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Master's degree in Nursing or related field. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio. Three years clinical experience in area of specialty. Previous experience as a clinical manager or nursing director preferred. Required certifications depending on area of specialty (e.g. BLS ACLS and PALS). Satisfactory completion of hospital and Akron General Medical Center registered nurse orientation programs. Demonstrated leadership managerial ability. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with members of the health care team. Knowledge of human resource polices and procedures and experience with bargaining agreements preferred. Proficient in the use of administrative and clinical software applications). Ability to fulfill responsibilities of house supervision and/or back up.
