Health Screening Technician-PRN-Wellness Services - AGP
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Wellness Services the Technician, Health Screening is responsible for performing health screenings and informing clients of the test results and self help treatment measures available. The technician is responsible for the set-up of equipment, running quality controls, and proper maintenance of the equipment.
•Conducts finger stick screening using the Cholestech analyzer, and other health screenings using the appropriate equipment for each screening.
•Adheres to governing bodies regulations regarding screenings such as JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and OSHA.
•Sets up equipment and runs all quality control testing.
•Collaborates with the Akron General Laboratory on various issues such as log books, trouble shooting, and comparative studies.
•Registered clients and collects fees.
•Informs clients regarding their results. Makes referrals to appropriate health care providers when needed.
•Distributes approved patient education materials to clients when appropriate.
•Transports equipment and supplies when needed.
•Keeps licensure(s) and certification(s) current.
•Maintains age appropriate care for clients. Recognizes significant age appropriate behavior, skills, and psychosocial development, which necessitates modified approach to care. Assists patient with safety needs based on patient visual, auditory or other physiological changes.
•Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
•Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
Medical Technician R.N. L.P.N. or other degree in health field. Excellent verbal communication skills. Excellent people skills - able to handle working with crowds and under pressure. Professional demeanor as job requires high visibility representing the Health and Wellness Center in community and corporate settings. Physically able to perform some heavy lifting of equipment set up tables chairs and equipment. Valid Ohio driver's license.
