Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Wellness Services, the Clinical Dietitian Health & Wellness is responsible for group and individual nutrition/lifestyle change programs/services. These programs/services include but are not limited to the LiteStyle Program, Cardiac Rehabilitation education, specialty programs, nutrition seminars, individual consultations, and community education.
Administers the LiteStyles program including training and supervision of program instructors, including system-wide promotion of the program.
Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy through private nutritional consultations. Conducts corporate nutrition classes on a variety of nutritional topics.
Provides nutrition supports at cholesterol screenings and corporate events when required. Provides the nutritional component at the new LifeStyles member orientations.
Instructs and promotes the monthly Nutrition Club at Health & Wellness West and Health & Wellness North.
Serves as a member of the Speaker's Bureau to deliver reliable, nutrition information at various local community meetings.
Administers the nutritional education component for the Cardio-Pulmonary Phase II and III programs.
Conducts finger stick cholesterol/glucose screenings using the Cholesterol analyzer and is familiar with the cholesterol screening policies/procedures.
Represents Health & Wellness in the media and at community events.
Performs body composition calculations using the Body Logic Analyzer.
Maintains age appropriate care for clients. Recognizes significant age appropriate behavior, skills, and psychosocial development, which necessitate modified approach to care. Assists patients with safety needs based on patient visual, auditory or other physiological changes.
Provides nutritional information and programs for the community, corporations, and Akron General Health & Wellness Center events.
Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics with current registration and licensure. Three years experience in nutrition and dietetics. One to three years experience with teaching adult education programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present information to individuals and groups in a clear and concise manner. Working knowledge of computer systems and applications. Appearance consistent with objectives of program.
