Sonographer Cardiac Function - Experienced – (On-Call)
Under the direct supervision of the Director, Cardiac Testing, and Senior Cardiac Sonographer, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for obtaining high quality echocardiographic views during transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiogram testing and pharmacological stress echocardiogram testing for cardiologist interpretation of cardiovascular disease. The Cardiac Sonographer also assists the cardiologist with transesopahgeal echocardiograms
Qualifications: Cardiac Sonographer must meet one or more of the following criteria prior to hire: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing Inc. or RDCS through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). or Successful completion of a cardiovascular technology program which includes verified didactic and supervised clinical experience in cardiac echocardiography. The program must be accredited by the commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). or Twelve months of echocardiography clinical experience with the performance of at least 600 echocardiogram/Doppler examinations. Successfully completed the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within two years from the date of hire. Completes at least 30 continuing education hours in the field of cardiac sonography every three years. Maintains current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Strong written and verbal skills.
