Meals
Your diet is an important part of your treatment. Your nurse will talk to you about how and when your food will be ordered and served.

Your selection may be limited based on your doctor’s instructions. 

Guests may purchase a Guest Tray in the kitchen. The tray will be delivered with the patient’s tray at the next meal. Guest tray prices are available upon request.

Call Light
All rooms have a hand-held call light. Be sure you know how to use your call light. To be certain, try it while your nurse is in the room. If your call light should go unanswered you may dial extension 1946 to speak with someone.

Telephones
Telephones, provided free-of-charge for local use, are conveniently located on the bedside table. For long-distance calls, it is recommended that you purchase a telephone card. Please ask us how to purchase one.

To dial an outside local telephone number from an inside phone, press 9, followed by the number. Remember to include the area code. 

To reach Edwin Shaw from an outside telephone, call 330-436-0910. Once you hear the welcome greeting, dial the room or other extension.

Cellular Phones
Cell phone use is permitted.

Personal Valuables
We encourage our patients to leave personal valuables at home or give to a family member for safe keeping.

Edwin Shaw Rehab Institute maintains a safe for the safekeeping of money and valuables and Edwin Shaw Rehab Institute shall not be liable for the loss or damage to any money, jewelry, glasses, dentures, documents, furs, fur coats, fur garments, or other articles of unusual value and small compass, unless placed therein, and shall not be liable for the loss or damage to any other personal property, unless deposited with Edwin Shaw Rehab Institute for safe keeping.
