You should also know that no matter how big or small the emergency, our patients from Northeast Ohio and surrounding counties have the reassurance that Akron General is equipped and ready for them. Being verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) as a Level I Trauma Center means that Akron General offers the technology, expertise and staffing to treat all injuries - even the most severe. Akron General is also a certified Chest Pain and an accredited Stroke Center.
