At the bedside, physical and occupational therapists begin to work with patients to help restore mobility and cognitive function.  Stroke Rehabilitation after Your Hospital Stay
Stroke rehabilitation continues after our patient’s stay and often at Akron General Edwin Shaw Rehabilitation Institute, located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio – the area’s most established rehabilitation hospital which specializes in stroke therapy, in addition to traumatic brain injury and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Skilled nursing for stroke rehabilitation is also offered at our Medina County facility through Lodi Community Hospital.
When stroke patients are able to return to the home, we offer stroke rehabilitation through Akron General Visiting Nurse Service & Affiliates or in one of our twelve outpatient locations through Akron General Edwin Shaw, Akron General Sports Medicine and Akron General Lodi Community Hospital.
