Lodi Community Hospital Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Lodi Community Hospital would like to remind women to get their annual screening mammogram. According to the National Cancer Institute, Breast cancer affects one in eight women during their lives and approximately 70-80% of breast cancers occur in women who have no family history of breast cancer. Lodi Community Hospital is proud to offer patients a powerful new tool for early detection of breast cancer through the addition of a new Digital Mammography unit. According to the American Cancer Society, women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram every year.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, any woman who schedules her mammogram at Lodi Community Hospital ‎during the month of October will receive a free appreciation gift. Digital mammography is remarkably fast, providing crystal-clear digital images in just a few seconds. The entire exam can typically take less than half the time of a traditional film-based exam. According to the National Cancer Institute, Digital Mammography also emits a lower average radiation dose than traditional mammography, thereby providing less cause to worry about repeat radiation exposure. And, to further care for our patients, Lodi Community Hospital is a certified Softer Mammogram Provider, using soft-touch pads for a more comfortable experience. Please call today at 330-948-5531 to schedule this important screening with our new Digital Mammography unit.
