Lodi Community Hospital Wins National Top Performer Award
Lodi Community Hospital is proud to announce that Press Ganey Associates, Inc. has named it a Summit Award Winner for the fifth consecutive year. Press Ganey currently partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities—to measure and improve the quality of care. The company's databases are the largest in the industry, and allow facilities nationwide to benchmark their results against peer organizations. The Summit Award recognizes top performing facilities that sustain the highest level of customer satisfaction for three or more consecutive years. Lodi Community Hospital is the only Emergency Department in the state of Ohio and one of only 3 in the nation to receive this award for five consecutive years. Richard B. Siegrist Jr., CEO of Press Ganey, noted, "We are proud partners of Lodi Community Hospital. Lodi Community Hospital continues to maintain a high level of patient satisfaction over a number of years and their efforts benefit Medina, Ashland and Wayne counties and lead to improved delivery of health care."
In an effort to provide the quickest access to emergency medical care for area residents, online wait times were added to the website. Staff engagement initiatives, patient rounding and a streamlined patient reporting system also help provide consistent achievement of high patient satisfaction scores.
Thomas Whelan, President of Lodi Community Hospital relates "This national recognition is a result of the hard work and dedication of the entire staff of Lodi Community Hospital, especially the physicians and nurses in the Emergency Department, in their efforts to provide superb care for our patients. We strive to create the kind of environment where top quality care and patient satisfaction is the basis for everything we do. We are pleased to receive this major distinction for the fifth consecutive year and we look forward to continuing our commitment to exceeding our patient's expectations with each visit."
Press Ganey Summit Award is the health care satisfaction industry's most coveted symbol of achievement bestowed annually and, according to Press Ganey, it is the most challenging to attain. Each winning facility must achieve and maintain the extraordinary. A 95th percentile score means that only five percent of the surveyed hospitals across the country performed better in emergency department patient satisfaction scores. This truly sets recipients apart from their competition. This score ranks Lodi Community Hospital's Emergency Department among the elite in patient satisfaction. Lodi Community Hospital has been a member of the Akron General Health System since 2000. For more information, please call 330-948-1222 or log onto www.lodihospital.org.
