Lodi Community Hospital Celebrates 5th National Award with Music Video
When Lodi Community Hospital won the Press Ganey Summit Award for the fifth consecutive year, Senior Administrators felt it worthy of more than just your average celebration. Press Ganey currently partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities across the nation to measure their quality of care. The Summit Award recognizes top performing facilities that sustain the highest level of customer satisfaction for three or more consecutive years. Lodi Community Hospital is the only Emergency Department in the state of Ohio and one of only 3 in the nation to receive this award for five consecutive years.
As a result of this major accomplishment, members of Administration and the hospital's Service Improvement Team came up with the idea to shoot a celebration music video. Each manager was asked to work with their staff to come up with creative ways to celebrate the honored Summit #5 within their department. After writing custom lyrics to the tune of "Mambo #5", Marketing Coordinator Christine Gorey pulled together all the efforts of the staff and directed a video that was shot in more than 18 departments throughout the hospital. Working with Digital Edge Video Productions and Scott Ross Music, the final result is an energetic and entertaining music montage video that pays tribute to the staff who dedicate themselves each day to providing superior patient care. Also starring in the video are representatives from Westfield Fire & Rescue, Emergency Physicians Medical Group (EPMG), MedFlight (the critical care air transport team that is stationed at the hospital around the clock), and the five awards themselves.
The video was debuted to an audience of more than 150 people at the hospital's annual post-holiday party. Thomas Whelan, President of Lodi Community Hospital relates "This video provides us with an opportunity to show our staff how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication to exceeding our patient's expectations with each visit. A key component of the success of our patient care can be attributed to the environment our staff creates: not only by providing high quality care to our patients, but by the care they show each other, the respect they have for their co-workers and the fun-loving team environment they foster that is so apparent in the video. Our administrative team is proud to oversee such a phenomenal group of employees and we look forward to sharing this video with the community to thank our patients for their support as well."
