Fresh from the Garden to Your Dinner Table

Struggling for new and fresh meal ideas? Summer marks the peak season for many fruits and vegetables, so there's no better time to utilize the fresh produce from your garden or local farmers’ market to liven up your meals. Your taste buds will thank you – as will your body! Fruits and vegetables contain essential vitamins, minerals, fiber and disease-fighting phytochemicals, which can help reduce your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and certain cancers.

Attend a free cooking class at Lodi Community Hospital to learn fun, easy and economical ways to bring vegetables and fruit to your table. Samples of the recipes presented will be available. Instructed by Sherry McGraw, Certified Dietary Manager of Nutrition Services, the next class will be held Thursday, August 11 , from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Lodi Community Hospital café, 225 Elyria Street, Lodi. Seating is limited and reservations are required by calling 330/948-5511.
