It's not easy to learn that you have diabetes, but educating yourself is the first step toward feeling better and living a longer, healthier life. And, if you have had diabetes for a long time, a refresher course may be just what you need!
Lodi Community Hospital is proud to offer “Sugar School,” a friendly class that focuses on the number one question most people with diabetes ask: “What can I eat?” Sugar School is an interactive, two-hour class designed to equip participants with practical skills and confidence needed to be in control of their diabetes. Sugar School provides invaluable health education at only $20 per person or $30 per couple. Each class is complete in itself; you only need to attend one class. If you or a family member has diabetes but inadequate or no insurance coverage, let Sugar School teach you what to eat, how to eat, and the best times to check your sugar. A physician's referral is not needed, and insurance will not be billed.
Sugar School will be held September 13 and again on November 8, from 7-9 p.m. at Lodi Community Hospital, 225 Elyria Street, Lodi. These are the last classes for 2011. Reservations are required. Reserve your seat by calling 330-948-5546.
