Lodi Community Hospital is pleased to offer the acclaimed Safe Sitter® course for students age 11-13 years. The course will be held on Thursday, June 21, from 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m. at Lodi Community Hospital, 225 Elyria Street, Lodi.
More than 500,000 adolescent babysitters have graduated from the medically accurate program, which instills participants with confidence as they learn how, why and where injuries can happen as well as prevention tactics. The curriculum provides hands-on experience in life-saving techniques designed to prepare babysitters to act smart in an emergency. Participants also receive instruction on how a child’s age affects how care is provided, how to prevent problem behavior and how to run their own babysitting business. They also learn basic first aid as well as how to perform infant and child choking rescue.
To graduate from the Safe Sitter® course and receive a completion card, students must pass a rigorous practical and written test that indicates their mastery of key concepts and life and safety skills. The cost of the course is $45. Please call Rose Gilson at 330-948-5521 to register. For more information about the Safe Sitter® organization, please visit safesitter.org
