Rehabilitation Services

Lodi Community Hospital's Rehabilitation Services offers physical, occupational and speech therapy services, as well as inpatient skilled therapy. A licensed therapist performs a comprehensive evaluation upon physician referral. A team approach is utilized in establishing a plan of care to improve the functional mobility of our patients. The care team includes the patient, family, therapist and physician.

Therapists at Lodi Community Hospital believe in the importance of individual care and a "hands-on" philosophy is followed, incorporating manual techniques with state-of-the-art exercise equipment.

Our therapists are licensed by the State of Ohio in their respective disciplines and are required to complete continuing education training in order to stay current with standards of their practice.

Patients receive individualized treatment working one-on-one with a therapist. Areas of care provided include orthopaedics, neurology, pediatrics and chronic pain management (including fibromyalgia and chronic headaches).

Physical Therapy
Whether jogging around the block or climbing a flight of stairs is the goal, physical therapy provides the means necessary to help patients feel better and increase their level of functional mobility. Orthopaedic and neurological conditions are treated through the Outpatient Physical Therapy Department. In addition to traditional physical therapy services, areas of specialty include:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Pelvic floor rehabilitation and urinary incontinence treatment
  • Vestibular (inner ear) rehabilitation
  • Balance disorders and fall prevention
  • Aquatic (water) therapy and exercise (available Tuesdays and Thursdays at Hawthorne Suites in Seville)

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy helps individuals become or remain independent by focusing on the skills for daily living, including self care, cooking, homemaking and working. Conditions treated through Outpatient Occupational Therapy at Lodi Community Hospital include:

  • Repetitive stress injuries, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis
  • Upper extremity injuries
  • Neurological disorders
  • Arthritis

Speech Therapy
Speech Pathology is an integral aspect of rehabilitation and is used as therapy for numerous conditions, including common speech and language disorders as well as common medical conditions that cause speech, language or swallowing disorders. Speech Therapy services include:
