Sleep Center

If you suffer from a sleep disorder, a good night's sleep can be just a dream.

Recurring sleep problems usually mean that other aspects of your life may be suffering as well. Physical health, work performance, social relations and even sexual behavior are all directly influenced by your amount and quality of sleep. The Sleep Disorders Center at Lodi Community Hospital can help you put your sleep problems to rest.

Our Sleep Disorders Center brings together experienced physicians and staff to diagnose and treat sleep problems. Services include a variety of inpatient and at-home diagnostic tests, along with various treatments.

What are the symptoms?
Considering that we spend about one-third of our lives sleeping, the quality of our sleep has a big impact on the overall quality of our lives. One in three people suffer from a sleep problem, and are often unaware. Symptoms of a sleep disorder may include:

  • Trouble falling or staying asleep
  • Daytime sleepiness
  • Heavy snoring
  • Unexplained morning headaches
  • Impotence
  • Sleep walking, talking or other unusual sleep behavior

What are common disorders?
Common sleep disorders include:

  • Chronic Insomnia
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Narcolepsy
  • Restless Leg Syndrome
  • Snoring
  • Periodic Limb Movement Disorder
  • Work-Shift Change Syndrome
  • Sleepwalking
  • Nocturnal Seizures

What can the Sleep Disorders Center do?
We work closely with your referring physician to conduct and evaluate your sleep studies. A visit to the center usually requires an over-night stay in one of our private bedrooms. While you sleep, polysomnographic technologists observe your sleep patterns. Brain activity, breathing patterns, muscle activity and heartbeat are monitored. The results of your tests are then forwarded to your physician with recommendations for treatment when appropriate.

If you think you're experiencing symptoms of a sleep disorder or are having problems sleeping, discuss them with your physician or call Lodi Community Hospital's Sleep Center at 330-948-1222, or toll-free 1-888-520-6000.
