National Mental Health Association: www.depressionscreening.org
For educational purposes, the National Mental Health Association offers a free online depression self-assessment tool. This tool is not meant to replace the advice of a healthcare professional.
If you are experiencing signs or symptoms of depression, seek the help of a medical professional. For information about behavioral health services at Akron General, call 330-344-1559.
For non-emergency, but urgent situations, the Center's Urgent Behavioral Evaluation Team (UBET) can facilitate an evaluation and referral for treatment within 48 hours or less. In an urgent situation, when there's threat of harming oneself or others, patients should always go to the Emergency Department. For more information about this service or to talk to a UBET clinician, call Akron General's Partial Hospitalization Program at 330-344-1559.
