Our dedicated team includes physicians who are board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Vascular Surgery, Dermatology, Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine, and Infectious Disease and have years of experience working together to solve the most complex wound issues. The added support of nurses and advance practice nurses who are certified in wound, ostomy and continence nursing helps us make the patient's experience complete.

Whether a patient's wounds are from a health problem such as diabetes or a result of a trauma or surgery, the Wound Center utilizes the most innovative treatments to offer comprehensive wound care. We have participated in clinical trials to test the benefits of new wound products and we were the first hospital in Ohio to use Apligraf®, a skin substitute that can help some types of wounds heal faster and more thoroughly. With over 4,000 visits a year, Akron General's Wound Center helps a broad range of patients and complexity of healing issues.
