Services

Services

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Wound Healing and Limb Preservation Center offers an individualized plan for each patient, because each person and each case is unique. Patients and their physicians seek our services because that's specifically what we do - help people heal faster to feel better. Our treatments include, but are not limited to:

  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • Negative pressure therapy.
  • Growth factors therapy.
  • Skin substitutes.

Often, patients who have certain medical conditions, like diabetes, trauma or autoimmune disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, require specialized help in healing. We work on treating the wound, but we also pay special attention to the cause and work with the patient to prevent future healing problems. This includes setting up consultations with physical and occupational therapists, pain management specialists, diabetes educators, pedorthists, orthotists, dietitians, behavioral health professionals, home health nurses and more. Through this comprehensive team, patients and their families can learn more about caring for the wound at home, how they can help, and also get support in coping with issues of wound management, like chronic illness and special care needs.
