The Akron General Community Health Library provides free access to health-related materials and information. Located off of the main lobby of the Medical Center, the Library is open to the public -- patients, their families and friends, visitors, hospital staff, community organizations, businesses -- anyone who is seeking health information. It's Akron General's way of ensuring that the Akron community has the resources it needs to find information about specific health care topics.

Resources Available
Your free Community Health Library card gives you access to up-to-date, user friendly medical information from:

• Books
• Journals
• Health databases
• Video and audio tapes
• Internet consumer health web sites
• Current medically related magazines, newsletters, brochures and pamphlets
• Also available are health care related forms, support group information, recipes and special diet information, e-mail access, electronic greeting cards and more.

Materials can be signed out for three weeks at no charge. A photocopier is available for library patrons for a minimal charge. For information from on-line computer resources, a printer is available for a minimal charge.

Information Requests
The experienced health care library staff is ready to assist you with finding the information you need. Simple questions and requests for information can be phoned, faxed or e-mailed to us ahead of time. You can pick up the information or have it mailed to you.
