To protect our patients during this flu season, please do not visit if you have flu or old symptoms.
We ask that children under the age of 14 years do not visit since early cold or flu symptoms may not be apparent in this age group.
Whether you've been a patient before or are coming to Akron General Medical Center for the first time, we want to provide you with information and services you might need before, during and after your visit. Before your stay with us, no matter how short or long, you should take just a moment to read the information on this page, as it may be very helpful.
Where to Go
If you are being admitted to the hospital, please report to the Admitting Desk, located in the main lobby of the Medical Center.
If you are being admitted for outpatient testing, please report to Ambulatory Diagnostic Services, located in the Ambulatory Care Center. If you have an outpatient appointment at Akron General's Health & Wellness Center - West, please report directly to the department where you are scheduled. Some diagnostic services are also available at our health center locations throughout Summit County.
Once you arrive, our friendly admitting staff will ask you for or verify important information, including your address and insurance information. You can help us speed up your registration process by pre-registering online.
