Academic background and certifications by medically accepted organizations are very important to ensure that your instructor is prescribing a program that is safe and appropriate for your needs. Antonio Altieri
Antonio was born in Akron and educated in Italy, where he spent one year in the army. It was there he found the passion to help others trough the world of health & wellness. He holds 6 certifications through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA). Certifications: Personal Trainer / Specialist Sports Nutrition/ Specialist Medical Fitness Therapy/ Specialist Senior Fitness/ Specialist Strength and Conditioning/ Specialist Youth Fitness. He is currently pursuing a specialty certification in Fitness Nutrition. Antonio is also Certified TRX suspension training. With more than 10 years in the fitness industry, Antonio has extensive experience with strength training of all levels and ages as well as body fat loss. He is passionate about helping others discover the motivation to achieve their goals, whatever it would be -- fat loss combined with muscle gain, sport specific training, rehabilitation, senior fitness training, balance and overall healthy nutrition and lifestyle. He understands the importance of tailoring workout routines to each individuals specific needs and circumstances to accomplish maximal results and have fantastic health & wellness.

Did you know?: Antonio attended college at Cassino, Italy. His favorite food is thin crust pizza with cheese sauce and basil


Michelle Bisconti
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Akron and is a NETA Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor. She has worked for Akron General for over 20 years. Michelle enjoys working both one on one and in a small group setting. She has a special interest in osteoporosis and arthritis in women. Her goal is to design the right exercise program for her client based on the client's needs and personality. She believes that it is important to get to know her client and their lifestyle in order to develop a successful exercise regimen.

Did you know?: Michelle has two Arabian show horses. She’s traveled as far as New Mexico (by truck & trailer) with her daughter to show them at Nationals.


Ross Court
Ross began his own fitness and wellness goals in high school while participating in multiple sports. His passion for athletics led him to pursue a an education in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University, during which he also obtained his personal training and group exercise certifications through NETA. With his passion and knowledge, Ross looks to not only improve the lives of others, but create a fun and educational environment as well.

Did you know?: Ross has participated/competed in Track and Field, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Golf, and Snowboarding.


Scott Crabiel
As Personal Training Coordinator, Scott leads a team of 20 personal trainers. In his seven-year tenure, personal training participation has increased by 163%. He is a Club Industry Nova 7 award recipient (2005) and was awarded as one of Akron General's top 10 employees in 2006 (Spirit and Values Award). In addition to serving his one-to-one clientele, Scott serves as an industry consultant and is an accomplished speaker. He has presented on the local, regional, and national level. Scott is a frequent contributor to the Akron Beacon Journal and repeat guest on the WAKR Ray Horner radio program. In addition to his personal training responsibilities, Crabiel is also a certified Wellcoach through the American College of Sports Medicine. This service provides clients with the tools to create permanent behavior change in various areas of wellness.

Did you know?: Scott was born in Richardson, Texas. (just down the street from Lance Armstrong). When he’s not working, Scott enjoys reading, the beach, and spending time with family.


Jane Eibel
Jane Eibel has been a member of the LifeStyles Personal Training Team since October of 2006. She's a graduate of Malone College and a Certified Personal Trainer through NPTI. Jane is one of LifeStyles most creative and innovative Personal Trainers. Not only does she create exercise programs that are enjoyable, she also skilled in adapting to any age group, Jane is passionate in the well-being of her clients. Her results driven programs challenge her clients to create balance and a healthy lifestyle through physical, nutritional, and mental strength.

Did you know?: Two of Jane’s favorite quotes…"Don't Compromise Yourself... You're All You've Got" and "Take Control of Your Life, Dare to Dream and Take Risks... Compete! Believe in Yourself."


Cristy Esposito
Cristy earned a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology. She is a certified personal trainer through AAPTE and specializes in High Intensity, Interval Training. Cristy enjoys working with people who have knee, back and shoulder issues. She believes everything builds off of a strong core.

Her philosophy is: Personal training is simply how it sounds, personal. Training is not one size fits all. It's about a custom made program based on each client's needs that will simultaneously educate, guide and motivate him/her. The body is always growing tolerant of repetitive motion and as a trainer I constantly challenge my clients with new exercises. Challenging new exercises provide variety and shock the body so my clients can build lean muscle, shed fat and ultimately be more healthy and fit.


Karen Feakes
Karen has worked as a personal trainer for 20 years. The past 11 years have been spent at Akron General LifeStyles. Karen provides training services to a wide variety of clients. Her expertise is concentrated in helping people with multiple health concerns and orthopedic injuries. She has worked long term with clients who need to be closely monitored and require the medical approach to training. She also provides endurance coaching for triathletes, cyclists and runners. Karen implemented the LifeStyles Sprint Triathlon and training program, the program continues to be successful and has provided members with a great training opportunity. In addition to her training at LifeStyles, Karen also teaches Personal Training Fundamentals at a local college. Karen has taught group exercise for 13 years, teaching formats such as Advanced Cycle Skills, Cycle 60, boot camp and various aqua classes.

Did you know?: Karen is from Stourport-on-Severn, England. If given the opportunity she’d have a conversation with Princess Diana … she had a very special way with people.


Greg Gilbow
Greg’s number one goal as a trainer is to safely and effectively help members/clients reach their fitness goals. He played sports throughout his youth and young adult career and has dealt with various injuries, including low back and knees. Greg has devel-oped a great understanding on how to work with all types of cli-ents, including those whose goals are sport specific, control or improve the condition of a previous injury, or even are simply to lose body fat, tone, and gain strength. He attended the University of Akron where he earned a BS in Exercise Physiology/Exercise Science, and he is also an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer.


Annette Gursky
Annette is a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). As a graduate from The University of Toledo, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Annette specializes in assessing and improving posture, core and muscular strength, flexibility, and stability for functional movement and to ease the challenge of activities for daily living. Because of her expertise, Annette can also help design a program for pre-operational and post-therapy patients. She is also experienced with the suspension trainer, TRX. By implementing her weight loss techniques in addition to each individual’s goals and objectives, she will produce a specialized plan that will yield positive results.

Did you know?: Annette loves rock climbing! It definitely takes me out of my comfort zone and "scares" me... most of the time.


Jason Leaman, BS
Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology Ohio University; Certifications: Personal Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Specialist – National Strength and Conditioning Association Crossfit Running and Endurance , TRX Personal Trainer. In August 2005, Jason Leaman joined the Akron General Lifestyles team. Jason balances a detailed workout regime with the essential guidance and support his clients need to achieve their fitness goals. Over the past six years, Jason’s clients achieved the following results: reduced the side effects of arthritis, trained for and completed a marathon - Lost weight, built strength and regained an active lifestyle, biked 100 miles in one day, rehabilitated from injury to perform essential day to day tasks. In addition to Personal Training, Jason also offers group training for all audiences. An avid skier, Jason created a ski conditioning class that is offered in the late fall to help skiers prevent injury and maximize their time on the slopes.

Did you know?: When Jason’s not training clients, he enjoys mountain biking and running trails in the woods.


Zack Miller
Zack is a graduate of the University of Akron where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology (concentration in Strength & Conditioning). Prior to joining the Akron General LifeStyles Personal Training team, Zack assisted with the Ohio State University Strength and Conditioning program (overseeing 11 varsity athletic teams). In addition to his experience at the university level, Zack has also worked in boot camp/group training environments as well as coaching clients one-on-one. He is very outgoing and energetic, he enjoys teaching, challenging his clients, and loves working with those motivated to reach their goals


Brittany O’Neill
Brittany got her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from the University of Akron. She has her CPT from ISSA and is a certified Wellness Coach. Being active is the most important contributor to a healthy and efficient lifestyle. Integrating physical activity into your life is proven to boost your mood, mind, and functionality. As a trainer, I dedicate my time helping clients reach goals of weight loss, increasing strength, muscle tone, flexibility, balance & coordination, and endurance, which leads to better health and well-being.


Kristin Schaeffer
Kristen is pursuing a master's in Exercise Physiology/Adult Fitness from the University of Akron. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM CPT) and a Certified TRX Trainer. Kristen believes that everybody is different and deserves special attention. Whether it’s learning proper biomechanics, increasing your cardiovascular fitness, improving your flexibility or wanting a healthier lifestyle, Kristen will work with you to develop a road map that meets your goals.


Ruth Ruscello-Miller
Ruth graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and from the University of Akron with a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. She is a certified Personal Trainer through AFAA, is CPR and AED certified, holds an AFAA kickboxing certification, and is also a Pro WNBF Body Building Figure Competitor. She has over 11 years experience in helping others achieve their fitness and weight loss goals. Educating others on how to properly balance nutrition and exercise to combat obesity, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis and other ailments is one demonstration of Ruth’s commitment to help others make positive Lifestyle changes. Her passion for fitness can also help motivate you to make the positive changes necessary to be fit for a lifetime!

Did you know?: Ruth earned the nickname of “ab queen” because of her challenging 6-pack attack ab classes


Wendy Saliga
Wendy is a graduate of the National Personal Training Institute and is certified in TRX. After many years of working in the financial research industry, she decided to make a career 180 and follow her true passion- fitness. Wendy’s objective as a trainer is to motivate you to achieve and surpass your goals with positive support, encouragement, and the proper workouts.

Did you know?: Wendy acquired a hunting license at the age of 12. She also grew up fishing… today, she enjoys fishing with her 2 beautiful daughters.


Taylor Sams
Taylor has a Bachelor’s in exercise physiology and a Master’s in Health, Physical Activity and Chronic Disease. He has participated in National and International strength competitions as a competitor and a coach. His philosophies are founded in science and backed up with personal experience. He specializes in working with obesity as well as other chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, arthritis and lower back pain.


Cynthia Santucci
Cynthia is a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor through the American Council on Exercise. With several years of experience in training and teaching group exercise, she likes helping and motivating individuals to achieve their fitness goals and improve their quality of life. Cynthia specializes in strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, and core stability. She understands the importance of supportive nutrition in regard to fitness and the busy schedules of clients. She has several graduate and undergraduate degrees. Cynthia and her son enjoy a very active lifestyle.

Did you know?: When Cynthia is not working, she enjoys spending time with the love of her life… her son.


John Schaller
John graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor in Education of Science. While at CSU he was a member of the men’s soccer team. After graduation in 2003 he earned his personal training certification through The American Council on Exercise. John concentrates on balanced training; meaning balance in strength, endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular conditioning. You will also hear him preach muscular balance, front and back, left and right, and top and bottom to keep you safe and able to work out for the rest of your life. You will see John using a lot of different mediums; free weights, machine weights, body weight, TRX suspension trainer, medicine balls, stability balls, and BOSU balls to name a few, to challenge his clientele. You will also see John teaching abs class, boot camp, small group training and personal training.

Did you know?: When he’s not training, John can be found outside spending time with his wife, son, and dog.


Greg Simcox, BS
Greg graduated from Youngstown State University with his Bachelors in Exercise Science. Greg has extensive background in performance enhancement including speed, agility and quickness. His specialties are strength training, weight loss and motivating clients to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Did you know?: Greg was born in Poland, OH. He’s a big fan of the hit show Criminal Minds. His two favorite foods are goulash and chicken parmesan.


Tami Van Duyne
Tami graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition/Exercise Science. While attending Ashland she competed on the women's soccer team. She's a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a LifeStyles personal training team veteran (2003). Tami encourages her clients to achieve lasting results by make lifestyle changes instead of temporary quick fixes. She especially enjoys working with the senior population. She has coached many "senior" clients to achieve fitness goals that they may have thought were for their younger days. Whether your goal is to improve daily living, climb the rock wall, or hiking mountains, Tami has a program for you!

Did you know?: Tami is obsessed with checklists. “I write lists for everything. Sometimes I will add something to my list I've already accomplished just so I can have the satisfaction of checking it off”.


Cathy Vento
Cathy’s love for people and fitness led her to become a personal trainer. She has taught water aerobics since 2009 and is a certified instructor for the Arthritis Foundation. Cathy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education and a Master’s Degree in Community Health. Let this ACSM certified personal trainer help you achieve your fitness goals.


Andrew Wright
Andrew completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Temple University, which ranked within the top 30 Kinesiology Programs in the United States), and is an ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer.
