Akron General Development Foundation is a 501-C3 tax-exempt organization, which encourages and accepts gifts made to Akron General Medical Center. It provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and corporations to support the programs and services of Akron General Health System and its non-profit members through philanthropic avenues.

A History of Caring
Akron General Medical Center offers health services to all who seek care, regardless of their ability to pay. Funds also help pay for development of major new resources within the Medical Center. These include equipment and facilities for comprehensive cardiac and vascular care, cancer treatment, infectious disease treatment and more; resources you or a loved one may need in the future. We also support medical education and clinical research. Gifts, grants, bequests and other forms of charitable donations are often the only way to pay for these programs or to purchase new equipment.

Founded in 1914 as Peoples Hospital, the founding fathers proclaimed that the slogan should be "Service to All." The name has changed over the years, but the hospital's commitment to quality patient-care services has remained unchanged.

Today, Akron General is recognized as a leader in patient-care services as well as medical education and is an important resource for the health care needs of northeast Ohio. Akron General Medical Center continues to build on its strength, changing and adapting to the needs of those who seek its services. With your support, Akron General will continue to be a significant health resource.
