If you would like to meet and help people or are looking for ways to expand your own personal growth, consider volunteering at Akron General Edwin Shaw Rehabilitation Institute. Volunteering can be rewarding and educational. It's a great way to update work skills or spend time during retirement years. Volunteers are needed seven days a week during both daytime and evening hours.

Volunteers are an important part of the rehabilitation team at Edwin Shaw's main campus. More than 100 volunteers provide essential services at the Hospital including:

• Patient wheelchair transportation
• Mail and flower delivery
• Helping with the Challenge Golf Program
• Participating in the pet visitation program
• Supporting hospital therapies and offices as needed
