Open enrollment in the Health Care Insurance Market continues through Feb. 15 when you can apply for, keep or change your health care coverage for the rest of the year. NOTE: You must have enrolled by Dec. 15, 2014, for your coverage to take effect Jan. 1. Individuals or families with a household income more than 138 percent of the federal poverty level can choose from a number of insurance products in the Marketplace depending on their needs. Tax credits or subsidies are available to help pay for premiums.
Individuals and families can apply for Medicaid coverage anytime. Under Medicaid Expansion, individuals or families with a household income up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level are eligible to apply for Medicaid too. Access to Care
This Summit County program, which links individuals in need to healthcare providers, continues to exist for those whose out-of-pocket costs in the Insurance Marketplace would create a hardship. Individuals must seek enrollment in other options before being considered for Access to Care.
