When you
arrive, report to the third floor receptionist in
the Ambulatory Care Center (glass building 301).
The receptionist will direct you to the Pre-Surgery
Waiting Room. A staff member will take you to a
changing area and assist you if necessary. A locker
is provided for your belongings. A health care provider
will complete your chart and provide a hospital
identification bracelet. You will then be taken
to the Pre-Surgical Unit. If you wish and time allows,
two family members may join you in the Pre-Surgery
Unit prior to your surgery. There is limited seating
space in the Pre-Surgical waiting room. Please limit
those in attendance to two people. There is no eating
or drinking permitted in the Pre-Surgical waiting
room as patients cannot eat or drink. Additional
family members may be asked to wait in the Surgery
waiting room located on the second floor, off the
main lobby.
There are multiple checks in place
to confirm your surgical site to minimize the risk
of errors. If your surgery involves the left or
right side, your doctor will initial the correct
operative site with a marking pen on the day of
surgery.
Saturday Surgery Patients Only
- Arrive at 6:30 a.m. if your
surgery is scheduled for 8 a.m.
- If you are scheduled at 9 a.m.
or later, please come two hours prior to your
scheduled surgery time.
- Park on the third floor of
the Parking Deck of the Ambulatory Care Center.
- Report to the Pre-Surgical
Waiting Room, located at the end of the Ambulatory
Care Center bridge on the third floor.
- If you have any difficulty
locating the Pre-Surgical Waiting Room, use one
of the white hospital phones conveniently located
throughout the hospital. Please call extension
46436 and someone will assist you.
