Objectives:

  • To give the medical student the opportunity to function as an intern on the General Medicine service while under the supervision of the senior resident.

Description:

  • Report to the senior resident for patient assignments.
  • Responsibilities will be similar to that of interns on the service, however, with a slightly reduced patient load.
  • Attend morning report prior to teaching rounds on the floor.
  • Attend daily noon didactic lectures, with work rounds taking place in the afternoon.
  • Will work with general internists assigned to your service for the period.

Night Call/Special Requirements: Every fourth night
