Akron General Medical Center Appoints Alan Papa as New President
Akron General Medical Center has announced the appointment of Alan Papa as its new President. He begins in his new role January 31, 2011.
Papa comes to Akron General from Mt. Carmel-West, one of five Trinity Health hospitals in the greater Columbus area. There, he held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer and was highly successful in leading a number of initiatives in physician relations, employee and patient satisfaction, quality improvements, and operational and financial performance.
Papa is already very familiar with the Akron market and, in particular, Akron General. He served as Akron General Health System’s Senior Vice President, Network Services and Operations, for more than eight years, leaving for the Mt. Carmel post in 2007.

Papa holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Youngstown State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Cleveland State University.
