Without a doubt, cancer screening tests are a great idea - early detection means early treatment. A FREE prostate cancer screening will be held Friday, September 21, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Akron General's Health & Wellness Center – Green, 1940 Town Park Boulevard, Uniontown, for underinsured or uninsured males. Please register for this important screening by calling 330-344-2462.
Prostate cancer is the leading cause of death by cancer in men over the age of 75, and is uncommon before the age of 50. An estimated 241,740 new cases will be identified in the United States in 2012 and more than 28,000 deaths will be due to prostate cancer, according to the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health.
