9th Annual WPC Invitational to Benefit Hospice of VNS’ Camp Promise

The Ninth Annual Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) Invitational Golf Outing will be held Friday, September 14 at the Rosemont Country Club, 3777 Rosemont Boulevard, Fairlawn. The invitational begins at 11 a.m. with registration and includes lunch, a scramble format, silent auction and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The cost for golf, course beverages, lunch, dinner and silent auction is $125; golf and lunch only is $100; dinner/silent auction only is $50.

Over the past eight years, the event has raised more than $218,000 for Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service’s (VNS) children’s bereavement camp, Camp Promise, and the outreach charities of WPC. Camp Promise is an annual camp dedicated to counseling children who are suffering from the loss of a loved one. Largely through community donations, counselors are given the opportunity to work with young children to help ease the grieving process. The WPC outreach programs have benefited charities such as Big Brothers and Sisters, Mobile Meals, Good Neighbors Food Center and the Haven of Rest.

Please register online at or call Evelyn Burkhart at the Hospice of VNS Care Center, 330-344-6888 to register, be a sponsor, or donate an item to the silent auction. Registration deadline is September 7.
