Bringing New Ideas to Reality
The Technology Transfer, Commercialization and Innovation Office, a new initiative at Akron General, is focused on making life-improving ideas become reality by partnering with startup and established companies in the biomedical fields.
The concept of technology transfer and commercialization-bringing new ideas to reality-is crucial for the development of new medical products and devices that will improve the health and lives of our patients and community.
Working with industry, physicians, and biomedical entrepreneurs and other area hospitals and universities we strive to attract biomedical investment and development in the region and bring value to our partners and improved medical care to our patients. Akron General’s long history of basic science and clinical research, organizational size and infrastructure and our diverse and highly qualified medical staff offers enterprising companies the ability to access a variety of expertise quickly and easily.
Our motto, "big enough to make a difference, small enough to care" establishes Akron General Medical Center as the place to come for biotechnology assistance.
Companies seeking medical expertise and guidance with their ideas, projects or products are encouraged to contact Robert E. Anthony, manager of the Technology Transfer, Commercialization and Innovation Office at Akron General, at 330-344-6830. or agieg@agmc.org
