The 9th Annual Grape Escape, an Akron General Development Foundation wine and food tasting fundraiser was held on April 30, 2009 at Fairlawn Country Club. The evening featured more than 200 different wines from around the world, food tasting from area restaurants, a silent auction and musical entertainment. The event raised more than $67,000 to benefit outpatient treatment at the Akron General McDowell Cancer Center. Winners of the Grand Prize Raffle trip to Napa Valley were Mr. and Mrs. Eric Stecz of Akron.
