You can support the life-changing work of Edwin Shaw Hospital for Rehabilitation by making a donation to the Edwin Shaw Hospital Development Foundation. Gifts of all sizes are needed and deeply appreciated.

• Developing programs like Challenge Golf for individuals with physical disabilities
• Funding important research to aid the treatment of individuals with a life-changing injury or illness
• Purchasing therapy equipment to help patients achieve quicker recoveries
• Assisting with the equipping of Edwin Shaw Rehab’s three outpatient Rehabilitation Centers. These are located on White Pond Drive in Akron, off Rt. 91 in Hudson, and on Grant Street in Akron.

If you are interested in making a contribution to Akron General Edwin Shaw Rehab, we invite you to participate in one of the following ways:

• Tribute Gifts to the foundation in memory of loved ones or in honor of special occasions like successful completion of rehab, or birthdays are deeply appreciated. Simply click on the donation form, complete and return it with your gift.
• Special Events like Winter Breakout III—A Night of Smooth Jazz are held throughout the year, raising funds for patient care and other services. If you are interested in volunteering at an event, or wish to attend events like the jazz concert or golf tournaments, please email the development office.
• Donations for each of Edwin Shaw Rehab’s programs are accepted, via check, cash, appreciated securities, VISA or Mastercard.
• The Annual Appeal is selected each year at Edwin Shaw Rehab as the area of greatest need to benefit from donor’s generosity. The 2008 focus is the Traumatic Brain Injury program. For patients experiencing such a life-changing injury, rehabilitation to regain independence, ongoing therapy for a strong future and access to community resources is vital. Your gift to this area provides therapy equipment, community reintegration and education, and family support services, giving a path to recovery for those affected. Annual Appeal contributions are needed and deeply appreciated.
• Bequests in your estate, endowment gifts or other planned gifts will give you the satisfaction of knowing that your gift is helping individuals with disabilities rebuild their lives following disabling accidents, illnesses or addictions to alcohol and other drugs.
