Acme Fresh Market & Akron General Announce Partnership for Express Care Clinics

Acme Fresh Market and Akron General have formed a partnership to provide walk-in medical clinics inside select Acme Fresh Market stores. They will be called ExpressCare Clinics and locations will be announced in the next few weeks.

ExpressCare Clinics are a new exciting concept in healthcare. They will offer speedy service with exceptional quality, complete affordability and unmatched convenience.

"ExpressCare Clinics are a shared concept between Acme and Akron General. We are both dedicated to meet the needs of our customers – including convenient help when they need prompt urgent care. It is a part of both organizations’ missions to improve the wellness of our customers," according to Steve Albrecht, President of Acme Fresh Markets.

Akron General will provide the medical protocol under the direction of Todd Kettering, D.O. and manage the day-to-day operations. Nurse Practitioners provided by Akron General will be staffed to operate the clinics. These highly trained nurses recognize primary health care needs and provide health care services.

"While our nurses provide excellent care, they do not substitute for a regular family physician, or medical home," explains Dr. Kettering. "We will send full reports to a family physician within 24 hours or refer patients to a doctor if they don’t have one already."

ExpressCare Clinics will be the ideal solution for professionals and working parents who can’t afford time away from the workplace to take care of themselves and their families.

The Fred W. Albrecht Grocery Co. operates 16 Acme Fresh Market Stores in Summit, Stark, Portage, and Cuyahoga counties. Founded in 1891, the stores feature food, pharmacy, and general merchandise with an emphasis on quality-fresh foods.
