Electrophysiology (EP)

Electrophysiology (EP) manages and treats heart rhythm disorders, also called arrhythmias are erratic heart rates that may be harmful and possibly life-threatening, if not treated.

Akron General has continued to maintain an outstanding reputation in treating cardiac rhythm disorders. We've done it by continually providing innovative and comprehensive treatment options, including more than 1,200 cardiac rhythm procedures in 2006 alone.

  • Radiofrequency ablation
  • Loop recorder implantation
  • 3-D mapping
  • Comprehensive electrical studies
  • Insertion of cardiac pacemakers
