Roughly sixty-nine percent of trauma cases require orthopaedic surgery, and many times they won't have a choice of where they're going to receive care, simply because they need treatment and right away. Victims, their families and the 26 counties we serve have the reassurance that Akron General Medical Center can provide the highest level of care available. That's part of our verification by the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
When there's serious injury - whether from car crashes or falls, patients also have the reassurance that our 24-hour on-call trauma team includes some of the area's most skilled and experienced orthopaedic surgeons. Fellowship trained, they are able to treat a broad range and complexity of trauma cases that include complex fractures, dislocation and more.
Patients are usually referred to an orthopaedic surgeon by their physician. Talk to your physician about treatment options that are right for you and about choosing an orthopaedic specialist.
