Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program

What Our Residents & Graduates Say...

"I firmly believe this residency program is the one to which all others must be compared for prospective applicants into orthopaedic surgery. It is built on a solid foundation of resident training and education as top priorities. The breadth of expertise of our faculty covers all specialties, and being in such close proximity and cooperation with Akron Children’s Hospital provides a comprehensive education that is unparalleled. Residents have full support for research in clinical and basic science applications, and have the benefits of both Akron General’s Calhoun Research Laboratory as well as collaboration with Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine."

The atmosphere of the program is noteworthy as well. There is a mutual pride and respect amongst the faculty and residents that makes being a part of this residency so enjoyable. Camaraderie both inside and outside of work is certainly a driver of this program’s achievements—being a part of it is a great experience."

Dr. Tucker chose to practice medicine because she always knew she watned to make a difference. "Orthopaedics is a very rewarding specialty for both the patient and the physician, as results are almost immediate," she explains. It's not only the speicalty but also the place that she finds so gratifying. "Akron General really feels like a second home."
