Objectives:

  • To expose the student to the study and treatment of bone and soft tissue neoplasms, both benign and malignant, primary and metastatic, in both adults and children.

Prerequisite:

  • M4 student
  • Previous orthopaedic rotation (2 weeks minimum)

Description:

  • Participate in all surgeries relating to orthopaedic oncology which occur during the elective period.
  • Review with the director and the pathologist(s) the histopathology of all neoplasms treated during the elective period, as well as certain “classic” orthopaedic neoplasms.
  • Receive exposure to ongoing local research in orthopaedic oncology.

Night Call/Special Requirements: Variable as part of Orthopaedic resident call team.
