Objectives:

  • To understand the basic structure and function of the musculoskeletal system.
  • To gain a basic understanding of the speciality of orthopaedic surgery.

Description:

  • Gain skill in history and physical examination of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Assist in orthopaedic operations.
  • Participate in ward rounds with orthopaedic residents and attending.
  • Attend orthopaedic conferences.
  • Participate in a reading program under supervision.
  • Gain an understanding of trauma in the Emergency Department.
  • Attend clinic and specialty office with orthopaedic faculty.

Night Call/Special Requirements: As part of the orthopaedic resident team
