Objectives:
-
To provide instruction in basic Sports Medicine knowledge
and physical exam skills, with emphasis on musculoskeletal injuries.
-
To stimulate interest in the study of various topics
related to Sports Medicine.

To understand the rehabilitation principles involved
in Sports Medicine.
-
To introduce student to the principles of athletic
conditioning and exercise response.
Description:
-
Observe office hours.
-
Assist in surgery on cases deemed appropriate.
-
Provide end-of-term oral report (5 - 10 minutes) on
Sports Medicine topic.
-
Typical daily schedule: Four weeks devoted to Orthopaedic
Sports Medicine, including office work and hospital-based surgical care.
-
Attendance at athletic events and other institute-based
events is mandatory.
Night Call/Special Requirements: Attendance at evening
athletic events
