Helpful Tips for Outpatient Lab Work
Be sure to have your physician orders with you when you come to your appointment. These orders must be completed by the physician and include the appropriate information. Telephone orders will not be accepted.

  • Ask your doctor if fasting is required for your blood work.
  • No appointment is needed for routine lab tests.
  • You will need to call Akron General's Health Information Management Department at 330-344-6472
  • Physician orders are valid six months from the date written.
  • Work with your doctor to obtain your lab results.
