Under the direct supervision of the Manager Practice Operations, the Office Coordinator, Orthopaedic Clinic is responsible for coordinating daily activities of the Orthopaedic Clinic and ensuring efficient and professional patient flow through the office. The Office Coordinator greets, instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors and posts charges. The Office Coordinator also interacts with residents, attending physicians, and the Department of Orthopaedics administrative staff and performs other office administrative duties.
Qualifications: Associate's degree in relevant field or the equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education. Two to three years experience in physician office setting. Knowledge of billing procedures, CPT, and ICD-9 coding skills. Proficient with computer software applications (Word, Excel) and medical practice management systems. Ability to troubleshoot and train others on the use of medical office systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with patients, residents, attending physicians, office staff members, administration, and the public effectively. Experience working in a medical teaching environment preferred.
