Listen to The Akron General Good Health Hour every Saturday at 11 a.m. on 1590AM WAKR Radio
“Remember, your health is your responsibility,” says Tim Stover, MD, as he closes his weekly radio program – The Akron General Good Health Hour – heard every Saturday at 11 a.m. on 1590AM WAKR Radio in Akron. His words are meant to energize and empower people to take control of their own health by living a healthy lifestyle, eating right and exercising often.
“Prevention is the key to good health,” says Dr. Stover, who started hosting the Akron General Good Health Hour in January. “The goal of the program is to provide our listeners with timely and important medical news and information that educates and inspires people.”
Dr. Stover mixes in his own style of humor and wit as he interviews national and local healthcare experts representing many different specialties. Recent guests have included: Elias Zerhouni, MD, director of the National Institutes of Health; J. Edward Hill, MD, president-elect of the American Medical Association; and Nicole Johnson Baker, Miss America 1999 and a diabetes advocate.
Dr. Stover says he hopes people tune-in and become regular listeners. “It’s a real joy to hear feedback from our audience members and know we’ve made a difference in their lives.”
