For over a decade, Akron General and Main Street Gourmet have teamed up to host Muffins for Mammograms – an annual program which distributes breast health information along with muffins, cookies and brownies. The proceeds provide screening mammograms at no cost to women who are uninsured. Since 1992, the program has raised more than $100,000 and paid for mammograms for several thousand women.
Online ordering for the 2009 season closed on September 25, 2009. Same-day sales will be available in the Akron General Main Lobby, the Akron General Health & Wellness Center - West in Montrose, the Akron General Health & Wellness Center - North in Stow and Lodi Community Hospital from 7- 9 a.m. on Oct 13 & 15.

How do I receive a free mammogram?
Call 330-344-BRST (2778). If you meet the qualifications, your mammogram will be scheduled at the Breast Health Center at:

The results of your mammogram will be sent to your primary care physician.
