More than 300 guests sampled delicious local foods and wines at Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service's (VNS) "Joyful Tastes of Life" fundraiser held October 11 at Todaro’s Party Center. The always-popular event featured 20 local restaurants, distributors and wineries. Sue Wilson, WQMX Morning Show Co-Host, and Tim Daugherty, WONE Morning Show Co-Host, were emcees for the evening. Scott Alan provided live guitar music. A large silent auction capped off the evening. Derrick Sly, of Akron, won the $1,500 Greenbrier Resort vacation package. "Joyful Tastes of Life" was sponsored by John J. Petrus, MD.
Presented by the Akron General Foundation, the event raised more $53,000 for end-of-life patient care and supportive services at Hospice of VNS.
