Akron, Ohio (January 14, 2013) – More than 700 guests are expected to enjoy food from more than 20 area restaurants and 70 global wineries at the 16th Annual Red & White on Thursday Night to benefit the Arthritis Foundation, Great Lakes Region, Northeastern Ohio. The benefit, which won a 2012 Akron Life Magazine charity event award, will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p. m. on January 31, 2013, at a new location - Quaker Station at the Quaker Square Inn in Akron.
 Presented by Akron General, Red & White on Thursday Night will raise essential funds to support local programs and services for people of all ages with arthritis. The event includes silent auction items, a wine bottle raffle, a Las Vegas dice roll game and the “Key to a Cure” live auction.
"This year our goal is to raise more than $100,000, I'm confident that we can do that. What I love about the Arthritis Foundation is that the money will not get sent outside of our state, and patients right here in Akron can benefit from the research and community programming that [the Arthritis Foundation] provides," said Dr. Amy Tucker, Akron General orthopedic surgeon and the event’s Honorary Chair.

Tickets are $85 in advance or $95 at the door. VIP tickets, which include general admission and high-end wine tasting from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m., are $125. Corporate sponsorships are still available. For more information call 800.245.2275, ext. 6409.
Delicious cuisine will be served by Bricco, Crave, Hudson’s Restaurant & Catering, The Lockview, Moe’s Restaurant, Eclectic Edibles, Thorpe’s Market Avenue Grill, Bistro on Main, Saffron Patch of Akron, Vaccaro’s Trattoria, D’Agnese’s on White Pond, The University of Akron, The Tavern in Richfield, Cilantro and Piatto NoVo.
An exquisite selection of wines will be provided by Bowling Green Beverage, Glazer’s Distributors, RC Distributors, Gregory Graham Wines, The Superior Beverage Group, Tramonte & Sons, Wine Trend and Traderman Distributors.
