Akron General Offers Free Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening
Early cancer detection is the best defense

Cancer is usually unpredictable and unexpected, but the good news is that cancer detected in its earliest stages has the best chance for successful treatment. The best way to detect it early is through screening. Akron General is pleased to offer a free breast and cervical cancer screening to uninsured or underinsured women age 21 and older on Saturday, October 12, from 8:30 a.m.-noon at the Akron General Women’s Health Clinic, 676 South Broadway Street, Akron. A free Pap test, pelvic exam and clinical breast exam will be provided. A screening mammogram will be offered for women age 40 and above who haven't had one in the past year. All women attending this screening will have the opportunity to schedule any needed follow-up tests. Please call 330-344-AGMC (2462) to make an appointment for this life-saving screening.
