In honor of all veterans, Akron General Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) will hold a veterans celebration on November 7 at 10 a.m. on the grounds of the Hospice of VNS Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Copley. The community is invited to attend. Scheduled activities include:
- Comments by Ben Alvarez, MD, Senior Vice President of Physician Alignment and President of Akron General Partners Physician Group; Lt. Col, U.S. Air Force (inactive)
- Honor guard ceremony by American Legion Post 473 (Copley) and VFW Post 7971 (Copley)
- Color guard by Garfield High School’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps
- Refreshments and tours of the Hospice of VNS Care Center
To RSVP, please call 330-668-4683 by November 1. The ceremony will be held outdoors in the Veterans’ Remembrance Garden, so please dress appropriately.
