Akron General recently welcomed Stefan Dupont, MD, PhD; Michael Gangel, MD; Mark Hoeprich, MD; and Ari Wachsman, MD.
Dr. Dupont is a vascular neurologist with special interests in stroke prevention and management, brain aneurysms, intracranial artery stenosis, carotid angioplasty and stenting consideration, vasculitis of the nervous system and other cerebrovascular conditions. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed his residency requirements at the Mayo Clinic, where he also completed a fellowship in vascular neurology. Dr. Gangel, resident of Fairlawn, is an urologist with special interests in wellness for urologic health, incontinence, urinary tract infections, bladder prolapse, cancers of the bladder, kidney and prostate, erectile dysfunction and sterilization. He graduated from the St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed his residency requirements at the NEOUMED-Affiliated Urology Residency Program. Dr. Hoeprich, resident of Bath, recently joined the Akron General Neuroscience Institute, where he provides clinical guidance and treatment in the field of functional neurosurgery, including deep brain stimulation for movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremors, seizure disorders and psychiatric disorders. He graduated from the Medical College of Toledo and completed his residency requirements at Detroit Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in epilepsy surgery at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital before joining Akron General. Dr. Wachsman, resident of Beachwood, is board-certified in Neurology and works closely with Akron General Neuroscience Institute to provide clinical guidance and treatment for specific neurologic diseases including stroke, cerebrovascular disease, seizure disorders, multiple sclerosis and neurocritical care. He graduated from Columbia University - Ben Gurion University Joint Program in International Health and Medicine and completed his residency requirements at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. He then completed a fellowship in neurocritical care at The Cleveland Clinic before joining Akron General.
